Colorado companies that support aerospace, defense, and space programs are expected to safeguard Federal Contract Information and Controlled Unclassified Information today, not after some future deadline. We map that data, fix what is missing, and build the records your primes and assessors will ask to see.
CMMC requirements keep changing, so we maintain one current summary, Where CMMC Stands Today, on our CMMC Compliance page. For the basics, read What Is CMMC Certification.
From the southwest metro and Jefferson County to Colorado Springs and the northern Front Range, Colorado has a dense network of businesses tied to satellites, launch and space systems, defense electronics, and federal research. Around the large primes sit many smaller firms: machine shops, composites and test labs, software developers, engineering consultancies, and logistics providers. When those firms receive controlled information, the cybersecurity requirements arrive with it through their contracts.
Our Colorado office is at 5808 S Rapp St in Littleton, close to suppliers in Littleton, Centennial, and Lakewood, with Denver and Aurora a short drive away. Remote support covers the rest of Colorado.
Engineering files shared through personal cloud accounts, CAD workstations on the same flat network as everything else, and policies copied from a template that do not match how the business actually runs. Each one is fixable, and each is far easier to fix before a prime or an assessor asks about it.
Your contract or subcontract flow-down decides the level, not the size of your company.
Applies when you handle Federal Contract Information but no CUI. It covers the 15 basic safeguarding requirements in FAR 52.204-21, confirmed by an annual self-assessment and affirmation.
Applies when you handle CUI, such as controlled technical drawings or specifications. It is built on the 110 requirements in NIST SP 800-171.
Reserved for programs with the most sensitive CUI. It adds selected NIST SP 800-172 requirements on top of Level 2, with a government-led assessment.
Scoping, remediation, documentation, and support through assessment.
We compare your current setup to each NIST SP 800-171 requirement, calculate your SPRS score, and rank the fixes by risk and effort.
We trace where controlled data enters, moves, and is stored, then decide whether a separate enclave or a whole-company approach costs less to secure. Our scoping worksheet is a practical first step.
We write a System Security Plan that matches the environment you really run, plus a Plan of Action and Milestones for anything still open.
Multifactor authentication, encryption, logging, endpoint protection, backup, and access controls, put in place and managed by the same team.
Written policies that reflect how your people work, plus security awareness training with records an assessor can review.
Evidence review and coordination with an independent C3PAO when you are ready for certification.
We talk through your contracts, the information you receive from primes, and how your systems are set up today. You get a summary of risks and next steps.
We define the scope, recommend an enclave or whole-environment approach, and price it clearly, either as a project or as part of a managed IT plan.
We close the gaps, write the SSP and POA&M, organize your evidence, and stay with you for annual affirmations and any assessment.
Requests are prioritized by business impact and measured in business hours.
| Priority | First response | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Critical | 1 hour | Server down, office cannot work, suspected breach |
| High | 2 hours | Email or internet down for a user or team |
| Medium | 4 hours | Printer down, but a workaround exists |
| Low | 8 hours | New user setup, scheduled changes |
Our team includes CMMC Certified Professionals and CyberAB Registered Practitioners.
We get you ready and coordinate an independent C3PAO, which keeps your assessment credible.
The people who manage your systems also build the controls, so your documents describe what is really running.
Our Littleton office keeps experienced staff close to Colorado suppliers.
We tell you what your contract requires and what it does not, so your budget goes where it matters.
Yes. Contractors that handle Federal Contract Information or CUI still have to protect it, and DFARS 252.204-7012 still requires NIST SP 800-171 for CUI. How certification is rolled out keeps changing, so check Where CMMC Stands Today on our CMMC Compliance page for the current status.
It can be. Technical drawings and specifications that carry CUI markings, or that your contract identifies as controlled, need to be protected. We help you read the markings and flow-down clauses so you know what you are holding.
The requirements are the same at any size, but the effort scales with scope. Keeping CUI on a few well-protected systems instead of across your whole network is usually the biggest way to reduce cost.
No. Certification assessments are performed by an independent C3PAO. We handle readiness and then coordinate with the assessor, which keeps the two roles separate as the program requires.
We check your environment against every NIST SP 800-171 requirement, calculate your SPRS score, and give you a ranked list of fixes so you can see the distance between where you are and what your contract requires.
Yes. Our Colorado office is in Littleton, and remote support covers Colorado Springs, the northern Front Range, and the rest of the state.
Readiness projects are quoted after the discovery call and review, based on scope. For ongoing managed IT and security, on average, clients invest about $100 per user per month, with a 10-user minimum. Pricing is per user and per device, month to month for smaller teams, and annual with a 90-day out for larger organizations.
Do you know exactly where CUI lives in your business? The BlueKey IT worksheet walks you through your contract clauses, how CUI moves through your company, which CMMC asset category each system falls into, and the smallest boundary you can defend. It is a planning tool, not legal advice, a CMMC assessment, or a certification.
Prefer to talk it through? Schedule a discovery call and we will review your contracts and security controls, then lay out a clear plan.
